What to expect from this grade
A WWT container has done years of ocean service. It is inspected to be free of holes and to have working doors with intact seals, so it keeps weather out. Expect surface rust, dents, patches, scuffed floors and mismatched paint. It is sold for storage, not for shipping. Condition varies box to box and you do not pick the specific unit.
Used containers are sold as described, not as new. Surface rust, dents, patches, worn floors and mismatched paint are normal for the grade and are not defects. You do not choose the specific unit; the supplier releases one that meets the grade. If you want a clean, uniform box, choose a one-trip.
Every container is sold for ground storage. It is not climate controlled, and condensation can form inside any sealed steel box; vents and a dehumidifier are the usual fix for stored goods that mind moisture.
Delivery site requirements
- Straight clearance: 100 ft. The truck backs in in a straight line, tilts the bed, and pulls forward as the container slides off. It needs the truck length plus the container length in a straight run.
- Overhead: 14 ft clear. No tree limbs, service drops or awnings over the approach or the drop zone — the tilted bed is tall.
- Level, firm ground. Gravel, concrete, asphalt or packed dirt. Doors swing better and stay square on a level pad. Soft, wet or freshly filled ground will bog the truck.
- Width: about 12 ft. Gates, fences and parked vehicles have to clear the truck, not just the box.
- Your responsibility: placement, permits, HOA and zoning, and marking underground utilities. If the driver cannot complete the drop because of access, the trip is billable at the supplier’s rate and a second attempt is charged again. Read what delivery day looks like before you order.
How ordering works
- Enter your ZIP, add any accessories, and check out. Your card is authorized, not charged.
- We confirm the order, delivered price and delivery window with you by phone or email, usually the same business day.
- Only then is the card charged and the container released from the depot. Typical delivery is about a week from confirmation.
- The driver calls ahead on delivery day. Someone needs to be there to show the spot.
Returns: 30 days from delivery, less delivery both ways and the supplier’s restocking fee, on an undamaged unit. Full detail on the terms page.
