Where a Madison delivery comes from
Madison is priced off two supplier depots: Memphis, TN (about 199 road miles, I-55 south into Madison, Hinds and Rankin counties) and New Orleans, LA (about 207 miles). The order goes against whichever has your grade in stock; the delivered price is the same either way. Published lead time is 3–7 business days from the day we confirm the order with you.
Placement and permits in Madison
Madison is the strictest city in the metro, and it says so in writing. The 2024 Zoning Ordinance §5.07.15 bans any 'temporary storage facility, structure or device, with or without wheels, whatever its original use may have been' in a residential district except on the driveway, on private property, with a permit — each day without one is a separate $100 violation, and POD permits go to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. A container meant to stay is an accessory building under §5.02.4: never in the front or side yard, one per lot, in the rear yard at least 10 ft from the side and rear lines, no more than 10% of the rear yard or 750 sq ft (400 sq ft in R-2), and no taller than 10 ft — a standard 8'6" or high-cube 9'6" box clears the height. The city has an Architectural Control Ordinance with architectural review, and most subdivisions (Annandale, Whisper Lake and others) add their own Architectural Review Committee approval for any structure placed on the lot. The Building and Permit Department (120 Montgomery St, 601-856-7116, permits@madisonthecity.com) requires a permit for any accessory structure, including ready-to-install ones.

Will the truck make it in? Madison lots

Assume two approvals before the truck is booked: the city's permit and, in nearly every Madison subdivision, the HOA's architectural committee. The lots themselves are generous — long drives, open rear yards — so the 100 ft run for a 40ft is usually there; the constraint is the one-accessory-building rule, which means a container competes with an existing shed. Acreage on the west side along Highway 463 and Mannsdale Road, and commercial lots on Highway 51, are where containers go in without a committee.
The non-negotiables are the same everywhere: a straight run of about 60 ft for a 20ft and 100 ft for a 40ft, 14 ft of clear overhead the whole way, and level, firm ground where the box lands. A truck that cannot complete the drop is a billable trip.
