Where a Gulfport delivery comes from

Gulfport is priced off two supplier depots: Mobile, AL (about 78 road miles, I-10 west into Jackson and Harrison counties) and New Orleans, LA (about 80 miles). The order goes against whichever has your grade in stock; the delivered price is the same either way. Published lead time is 3–7 business days from the day we confirm the order with you.

Placement and permits in Gulfport

On December 16, 2025 the Gulfport City Council narrowed a zoning text amendment so that residentially converted shipping containers are allowed only inside existing manufactured-home parks zoned RB (residence-business) — three properties — and not on individual R-2 or R-3 lots. That vote is about living in a container. A container used for storage falls under the city's accessory-structure and permit rules, which Building Code Services (228-868-5715, 1410 24th Ave) administers; ask them before you order, and ask specifically about wind anchoring.

Will the truck make it in? Gulfport lots

North of the CSX line and I-10 (Orange Grove, Lyman, the 39503 side) lots tend to be larger and the drop is usually straightforward. South of the tracks the older grid between US-90 and Pass Road has narrow lots, alley access and live oaks over the driveways — the limb canopy, not the lot length, is what most often blocks a 40ft drop there. Measure the overhead, not just the run.

The non-negotiables are the same everywhere: a straight run of about 60 ft for a 20ft and 100 ft for a 40ft, 14 ft of clear overhead the whole way, and level, firm ground where the box lands. A truck that cannot complete the drop is a billable trip.

Gulfport questions

How much does a shipping container cost delivered to Gulfport?
The delivered prices on this page are for ZIP 39501 and already include the truck. The feed prices Gulfport off the Mobile and New Orleans depots, so the number is the same across 39501, 39503 and 39507. Nothing is added at the door.
Can I live in a shipping container in Gulfport?
Only inside one of the existing RB-zoned manufactured-home parks, per the council's December 2025 amendment — not on a regular residential lot. Longleaf sells storage containers; a container residence is a building-code project with its own engineering and permit path.
Which depot does a Gulfport delivery come from?
Mobile and New Orleans are nearly the same distance (roughly 78 and 80 road miles). The order goes against whichever depot has the grade you chose in stock, and that does not change the delivered price.
