Placement and permits in Seminary

No rule written for shipping containers was found for Seminary; no ordinance text is online. Town Hall (123 E Main St, 601-722-9426) is the contact inside the town; the Covington County Board of Supervisors (601-765-8605) for the state-required construction permit outside it. The question that matters more in Seminary is the creek: the town sits on the Okatoma, and the June 2026 flood is the reason to ask about flood status before anything else.

Will the truck make it in? Seminary lots

On June 19, 2026 a storm stalled over Covington County, dropped seven to eleven inches, and sent the Okatoma to 23 feet — a flash-flood emergency centered on Seminary near Highway 49, residents pulled from vehicles, a church on Main Street in three feet of water. The creek-bottom lots along the Okatoma and Highway 49 are the ones to keep a container off; the higher ground off Highway 590 and the county roads is standard rural delivery.

The truck needs about 110 ft of straight run for a 20ft and 130 ft for a 40ft, 15 ft overhead, and firm ground: the full delivery checklist.
