What does a storage container actually cost to rent?
Two numbers: a monthly rate and a one-time delivery charge. That is the whole structure. Everything else is somebody padding an estimate they would rather not put in writing.
Our numbers
- 20 ft — $279/month. 160 sq ft, 20' L × 8' W × 8'6" H.
- 40 ft — $379/month. 320 sq ft, 40' L × 8' W × 8'6" H.
- Delivery and pickup — $445 once. Covers the drop AND the collection.
A 20ft for three months is $1282 all in. After the first month it is month to month, so you pay for months you actually use.
What moves the number
Distance. Delivery is the variable everyone hides. It is a truck and a driver for a round trip, so a yard 50 miles out costs more than one in town — which is exactly why we quote one flat delivery inside our area instead of making you guess.
How long you keep it. The delivery charge is paid once. Over six months it is a rounding error; over one month it is a third of the bill. Containers reward longer terms.
Size. A 40ft is not double a 20ft — it is roughly a third more, because the truck roll is the same either way.

Why nobody else posts a price
We looked at container advertising nationally and found that essentially none of it shows a rate. The industry standard is to make you call so somebody can qualify you first. That is a fine way to run a yard and a miserable way to be a customer at 9pm on a Sunday.
