Storm Box
A dry, heavy place for what cannot get wet or walk off in September. Coast and Pine Belt households: generators, boat gear, tools, records, the contents of a ground-floor room before a storm.

Illustration of the package set up. This is what it can become, not how it arrives.
How a package arrives — read this first
Nothing is installed. You get two deliveries: the container, a used box exactly as described on its product page, set on your ground by tilt-bed truck; and the kit, each part in its own box by parcel from the accessory supplier, usually within a week. You put it together — the lock box bolts through the door bars, brackets and hooks hang on the corrugation, lights mount with the hardware in the box; a vent is the one cut (an opening in the wall panel with a grinder or a metal-blade jigsaw, half an hour each). An afternoon with a drill and a step ladder. A package is a shopping list and a plan, priced as one, not a finished build.

What is in it, and why
Heavy-Duty Bolt-On Puck Lock Box — Ultimate Security for Containers & TrailersPuck lock box — after a storm, an unattended container is a target.
Heavy-duty padlockHeavy-duty padlock.
Leveling Bottle Jack, 6 ton6-ton leveling jack — a level, blocked box sheds water and keeps the doors sealing.
Rectangular Vents, 2 pack with bug screensLouvered vents with screens — a sealed box sweats; vents keep stored gear dry.
Leak Patch — (Instant and Permanent), 3" x 6"Leak patch, 3x6 — on the shelf for the one seam that ever weeps.
Options we quote with the container (not in the price above): Anchoring hardware — ask your building department first; we will point you to a supplier. Mention them in the order notes.
What a container is and is not in a storm
Loaded and sitting level on firm ground, a 20ft container is a two-and-a-half-ton steel box that keeps rain out — a better place for a generator, outboard, tools and paper than a carport or a ground-floor closet. It is not a shelter, and it is not a substitute for the flood elevation your lot may require: if the yard takes water, so does the box. Set it on the high side of the lot.
Empty boxes move, loaded ones don't
An empty container in open wind is a sail; a loaded one is not. Load it, level it, block the corners, and ask your building department about anchoring — Gulfport, Biloxi and Long Beach each have their own rules, linked on our town pages.
Before the season, not during
Supplier lead time is 3–7 business days in a normal week and much longer the week a storm is named. Order in June, not in August.
The plan set — free, by email
Seven letter-size sheets drawn to this box: floor plan, elevation and cross section from real ISO dimensions, the site and leveling sheet, the parts list (this package, line for line), what you buy locally with estimated costs, and the build order. Not an engineered drawing; see the plans page for what that means.

Questions
Will it flood?
Can I anchor it?
Is a 20ft enough?
