Tack Room
A dry, vented, locked tack room at the barn — saddles on racks you build, bridles on the wall, feed cans sealed. Horse owners and small boarding barns across south Mississippi: a tack room that does not mildew, does not get chewed, and locks when you are at work.

How a package arrives — read this first
Nothing is installed. You get two deliveries: the container, a used box exactly as described on its product page, set on your ground by tilt-bed truck; and the kit, each part in its own box by parcel from the accessory supplier, usually within a week. You put it together — the lock box bolts through the door bars, brackets and hooks hang on the corrugation, lights mount with the hardware in the box; a vent is the one cut (an opening in the wall panel with a grinder or a metal-blade jigsaw, half an hour each). An afternoon with a drill and a step ladder. A package is a shopping list and a plan, priced as one, not a finished build.

What is in it, and why

Magnetic Hooks For Hanging / Organizing, 10 packMagnetic hooks, two 10-packs — bridles, halters, lead ropes and helmets along the wall at a height you can reach from the aisle.
Solar Powered Lights, 15 LightsSolar string lights for the early feed and the late ride.
Heavy-duty padlockHeavy-duty padlock.
Leveling Bottle Jack, 6 ton6-ton leveling jack — barn lots move; level doors keep sealing.
Options we quote with the container (not in the price above): Rubber stall mat for the floor (local farm store) · Second set of vents for a 40ft. Mention them in the order notes.
Why a container for tack
Saddles mildew in a damp barn room and mice eat a bridle in a weekend. A steel box with two vents, set level beside the barn, keeps leather dry and rodents out, and it locks. A 20ft holds four to six saddles on racks, a wall of bridles and halters, blankets and supplements on shelves, and sealed cans for the grain you keep near the horses.
Racks you build
Saddle racks are an afternoon with 2x6s: an angled cradle screwed to a 2x4 cleat, hung on the shelving brackets or on their own cleats, 36 inches apart along the wall, with a rail under each for the pad. The plan set draws them with the cut list; no store rack fits a corrugated wall as well.
Setting it at the barn
The truck needs about 60 ft of straight run and firm ground — the gate area where the hay comes in usually works. Set the doors facing the aisle, the vents low on the shady side and high on the far end. A rubber stall mat on the floor is the one thing worth adding on day one.
The plan set — free, by email
Seven letter-size sheets drawn to this box: floor plan, elevation and cross section from real ISO dimensions, the site and leveling sheet, the parts list (this package, line for line), what you buy locally with estimated costs, and the build order. Not an engineered drawing; see the plans page for what that means.
