Used shipping container prices in Mississippi: what moves them and what is included

Used shipping container prices in Mississippi are set by four things: size (20ft or 40ft), grade (wind and watertight or cargo worthy), standard or high cube, and road miles from the depot holding that box to your ZIP. Our delivered price for your ZIP is on the containers page with the tilt-bed haul already in it, so the number you see is what you pay to have the box set on your ground.

What moves used shipping container prices in Mississippi

A used shipping container — most people here just call it a conex box — is priced by the same four levers anywhere in the state. Size first: a 40ft has twice the floor of a 20ft but costs well under twice as much, because it is one truck trip either way. Height next: a high cube adds about a foot of headroom for a modest premium.

Grade is where used boxes differ most. Wind and watertight means no holes and doors that seal; dents, surface rust and old paint come with it, and for plain storage it is the right buy. Cargo worthy is a used box that has passed a structural survey and costs more. If the box will sit by the house or become a shop, a one-trip is worth pricing next to it. One-trip vs used explains what each grade actually promises.

Then distance, which is the part that changes town to town. Containers for Mississippi come out of depots in New Orleans, Mobile and Memphis, and the delivery leg is priced on road miles from whichever one holds the box you picked. The Coast and the Pine Belt usually price off New Orleans or Mobile; the Jackson metro can price a 40ft off Memphis. That is why the same used 20ft lands at a different number in Gulfport, Hattiesburg and Brandon.

What a delivered used container price includes

Included: the container, the tilt-bed haul to your ZIP, and a driver who slides it off where you point. We do not quote the box at the depot and add the truck later — enter your ZIP on the containers page and the delivered price for the 20ft used wind-and-watertight or the 40ft high cube updates from the daily supplier feed. Delivery is typically within a week or two of us confirming the order.

Not included: anything on your side of the fence. A gravel pad or corner blocks, a permit where your town wants one, and a failed drop. The truck needs about 60 feet of straight, firm, level run for a 20ft and about 100 feet for a 40ft, plus 14 feet overhead. If it arrives and cannot set the box — soft ground after a week of Gulf rain is the usual culprit — that trip is billable. Delivery access covers how to measure.

Accessories are priced separately and ship by parcel: lock box and puck lock, vents, a solar fan, shelving brackets. They are on the accessories page, arrive as kits, and you install them — bolt-on, no drilling.

Comparing prices before you buy

Ask every seller the same question: what is the total, delivered to this address, for this grade and this height. A cheap depot price with a long haul from the wrong depot can land above a higher delivered price. Ask too whether the card is charged at order — ours is authorized, not charged, until we confirm the order and delivery window with you.

Be honest about how long you need it. If the job is a few months on a site you do not control, a local rental yard is the better answer. If you will still want the box next year as a shed, feed room or shop, buying wins — see container vs shed and container delivery cost for the rest of the math.
