A conex box for sale in Laurel: what you can buy
A conex box for sale in Laurel is a steel shipping container — conex is just the common name most people in Jones County use for it. We sell 20ft and 40ft, standard height or high cube, used or one-trip, delivered to Laurel, Ellisville, Sandersville, Moselle, Soso and the rest of the county.
Used wind and watertight is the plain-storage grade: no holes, doors that seal, dents and surface rust included. Behind a shop or at the back of a few acres it is the right buy — see the 20ft used WWT or the 40ft high cube used. One-trip is near-new and worth it when the box sits in sight of the street or will become a shop; see the 20ft one-trip. One-trip vs used explains what each grade actually promises.
The buyers here are mostly people keeping the box for good: a storage building behind the house, overflow from a remodel that stays afterward, a feed room on a place out toward Soso or Heidelberg, or a lockable box at a deer camp. If you need one for a few months on a site you do not control, a local rental yard is honestly the better answer — renting vs buying in Laurel walks through where the line is.
How a delivered shipping container is priced to Laurel
Containers for the Pine Belt come off depots on the Gulf Coast, and the delivery leg is priced on road miles from whichever one holds the box you pick. That is why we show one delivered number for your ZIP instead of a box price now and a truck price later. Put your Jones County ZIP on the containers page and the price updates from the daily supplier feed; the Laurel page shows the same delivered prices for 39440.
Not included: a gravel pad or corner blocks, a permit if your lot needs one, and a failed drop. Your card is authorized, not charged, until we confirm the order and the delivery window with you, and delivery is typically within a week or two after that.
Before you buy a conex box in Laurel
Measure the run. A tilt-bed needs about 60 feet of straight, firm, level ground for a 20ft and about 100 feet for a 40ft, plus 14 feet of clear sky. Laurel's older streets near downtown have narrow drives and big oaks that often take a 20 and not a 40, and clay ground out in the county can stay soft for days after a heavy rain. A truck that sinks cannot set the box, and a failed drop is billable. See delivery access and 20ft vs 40ft.
Make one call. Rules for a container kept on a residential lot differ town to town. Inside city limits, ask the City of Laurel's Inspection Department how a permanent shipping container is treated and whether it needs a permit; outside the limits, call Jones County and ask what your parcel needs. The Laurel page has both contacts. In a subdivision, read the covenants too. Storage container permits covers what to ask.
Then plan for a lock box and vents from the accessories page — they ship separately as bolt-on kits you install yourself, and theft and condensation are the two things that actually go wrong with a container in south Mississippi.
